Important: Before you try resetting the Shuttle Helper and Engine, the Shuttle Helper icon in the System Tray must be enabled. Here's a short video that shows you how: https://youtu.be/-FccHvf-Pto?t=1m26s

Our previous Windows drivers (v2.10, 2.11 and 2.12) may not behave properly on some Windows 7 and 8 systems. The next software update has fixed this, version 2.13. Please update to version 2.13 or later which is available in our Downloads section.

If you are using version 2.13 and later, you can reset the Shuttle Engine, but the Shuttle Helper will not show up in the Task Manager.

In the meantime, here is a workaround when the Shuttle software displays "Global Settings" in the Shuttle Icon Menu in the System Tray or "Explorer.exe has the focus" when an application's Shuttle settings are not working when that program is open. Many people have remedied this with uninstalling and reinstalling. This is an easier way. We apologize for the inconvience.

1. Open the Windows Task Manager then click on the Processes tab. Find "ShuttleHelper.exe" and click on it, then right-click and choose End Process (or click the End Process button in the bottom-right corner of the window).

2. Now click on the Services tab then click on the Services button in the right, bottom corner of the window.

Find "Contour Shuttle Device Engine" and click to Stop the Service (upper, left-hand corner).

3. Next, go to your Program Files (x86) folder in your C Drive, and open the Contour Shuttle folder. Double-click the ShuttleHelper.exe to relaunch it,then double-click the Shuttle Engine to relaunch it as well.

If you still need help, please email us at the link below.

Thank you,

Windows 10 users, try setting the service to start as "Automatic (delayed)" instead of "Automatic" in the Management console. Thanks to user Jaco2k for the tip!
